EX1403A: Bridge/Strain gauge, resistance/RTD and voltage acquisition system, 16 channels, 24-Bit up to 128 KS/s

The VTI Instrument EX1403A is a precision (24-Bit) strain gauge and bridge instrument. This instrument sets a new standard for strain and bridge measurements, delivering the highest performance measurements possible while controlling overall test hardware costs.

The EX1403A has 16 simultaneous channels, 24-Bit resolution, configurable channel by channel for bridge/strain gauge, resistance/RTD and voltage measurements. The EX1403A samples data synchronously across all channels up to a rate of 128 KS/s per channel.

It incorporates signal conditioning and bridge completion, 1/4 bridge (120, 350, 1k and user defined), ½ and full bridge. The excitation is also programmable, all configurable by software channel by channel as well as the filtering.

LXI & PoE Instrument

The EX1403A supports easy integration and synchronization of multiple devices through the IEEE-1588 v2 Precision Time Protocol standard for synchronization, providing an architecture that can be scaled from tens to thousands of channels. Multiple instruments can be easily distributed extremely close to the measurement points of interest, reducing the run length of analog cabling and minimizing errors induced by noisy environments.

Additionally, Power Over Ethernet (PoE) enables a single cable to be used for both power and data capture. All measurement data is returned with IEEE-1588 timestamp codes with typical accuracies of <200nS, ensuring that acquired data is tightly correlated across the test article.
